My sandwich experiment…

So, I was bored during hurricane Irene and decided to make a crazy grilled cheese.  What did I come up with? Grilled cheese with cheddar, pear, and raspberry mayo.  CRAZY, I know.  But, it actually came out pretty damn good if I do say so myself! 🙂

To make the raspberry mayo I took about a tablespoon of mayonnaise (I use Hellmans with Canola oil) and about a teaspoon of raspberry jam (Smuckers).  Mix thoroughly and spread on both sides of the bread.  Slice cheddar and pear thinly and layer on the sandwich, squish together, and grill!  I really like sweet and savory combos so this was right up my alley.  The raspberry mayo was inspired by cranberry mayo – I figured if that worked, raspberry would too!

Give it a try sometime, you might be pleasantly surprised!
